New York Giants- Round 1, Pick 15; Sean Weatherspoon LB Mizzou, Sr.

Whiteness the Face of a Scary Grown-Ass Man

Will: The New York “Football” Giants have a few needs, but nothing that stands out so much so that they would be expected to move up. So expect Mara to take what is on the board at 15.

The G Men need to start the draft by firing everyone on there training staff, getting their own stadium (seriously guys, you built a $1.6 billion, 130,000 square foot palace and you are letting your kid brother move in, again? Put on you big boy pants and get a nice two bedroom townhouse in the burbs Jets, this is sad), and replace recently cut defensive leader and Plex’s wheel man, Antonio Pierce. The 31 year-old vet was cut after coming off of IR and the Giant’s brilliant medical staff discovered he was playing with a broken neck and was one hit away from pulling a Shark Lavay (if you can’t name the movie, kill yourself until you die from it).

I look for the Giants to pick up LB Sean Weatherspoon from Mizzou. Spoons has all of the talent and personality (anyone who shows up at the combine in white, full-body underarmor workout gear is O K in my book) to start as a rookie and this guy is an absolute play maker. He is a little undersized right now for a mike, and is probably a natural will, but his amazing cover skills, speed, and voracity at the point of attack will force Tom Coughlin to start him in the middle of his d. Spoons is vocal guy who can bridge the gap at the second level of a cover 2 against the pass and he arrives at the ball carrier with nasty intentions (see photo above; do not stare or you will cry). This guy is an instinctual game changer who is about 20 pounds of rip away from being a pro bowl caliber player.

If Rolando McClain from Bama is still on the board it will be an automatic pick, but Spoons will be the best fit available and will earn his paycheck from the first day of training camp until the Giants inevitably collapse at the end of the season and miss the playoffs, again. Burn Jay, total burn; your welcome.

Jay: yeah yeah, that’s about as likely as your girlfriend NOT getting raped by Ben Roethlisberger.  As far as your pick goes, LB is a big time need for the Giants. Getting Antrel Rolle to play safety was a great pick up by the G-MENNN. At pick 15 the Giants should address one of 2 needs, LB or DL. I really feel that Derrick Morgan or Rolando McClain will be available here and if either one is, the Giants will draft one of them in a heart beat but since I have already used both of them, I look for the Giants to draft DT from UCLA, Brian Price. At, 6’1, 301 pounds, Price is very strong. The Giants lost DT Fred Robbins (not that he was any good) but they need to fill that hole. He has a great motor and never seems to quit on the play. The Giants need to rebuild their D-Line. That is what made them so good when they won the Super Bowl. Last year their defense was very bad (partially because of injuries) but they got no pressure on the QB. With Kenny Phillips back at safety and the addition on Rolle, look for the GMen to be playing in February again. (Oh did I mention I’m a huge Giants fan?)
