Jay: With the 4th pick in the draft, the Skins should draft QB Jimmy Clausen from Notre Dame. I think he has the potential to be a better QB than Sam Bradford. Mike Shanahan will want to draft his own QB and groom him the way he wants. He had success in Denver with Jay Cutler and I think he will try to do the same here. Clausen has a great NFL frame. He is 6’3 and weighs 218 pounds. He has a cannon attached to his right shoulder. He has a good throwing motion with a quick release. I also think that playing for Charlie Weis will make the NFL transition much easier for him. Weis was a long time NFL coach and ran a NFL style offense at Notre Dame. I think Bradford will be good too but he played in your typical college style offense. He was always in the gun and usually had 4 or 5 receiver sets. The other big question is how will Bradford recover from his shoulder injury? Also, look at how good Landry Jones did in Bradford’s absence. I know Bradford is a much better QB but how inflated were his numbers?
FWG: Jay says that the Skins should draft Jimmy Clausen. Spoken like a true ass hole. They need to take Anthony Davis OT, build an O-line that can protect, and in the process they’ll have Chris Cooley, the NFL’s best blocking TE (who can also catch) and they’ll have running backs getting to the corner, and…surprise Redskins fans…winning games! Taking Clausen will be the draft equivalent of catching clamydia, she was hot, but you got burned, bro. That’s going for the sizzle not the steak. Sure Clausen has a laser-rocket arm. So did Jamarcus Russell. Not to mention Clausen won’t be participating in the combine, which, I’m sorry, he can have all the medical reasons in the world, call it the safe play, whatever. To me that makes him a pussy. Draft an O-line, build a solid fundamental game up front, and start winning games.
